Hello there, buddy. Got a bit of a cold case for you today and it’s one close to home. I’m taking you back to where I trod along pavements as a kid, just a stone’s throw away from where this heartbreaking event took place. The tragic case of Georgia Leah Moses, a young girl whose murder remains unsolved after 28 years, is a story that still haunts my community, demanding our attention.

### A Jovial Child Goes Missing
On August 13, 1997, 12-year-old Georgia Leah Moses was last seen near Sebastopol Road and Dutton Avenue in her hometown of Santa Rosa, California. What started as just another day turned into a chilling nightmare when Georgia, after hanging out with her friend, returned a page and left with an unidentified man, fading away into the evening. Witnesses observed she left willingly, hinting at a possible familiarity with her abductor.

### The Search Begins
Zealous community members and law enforcement fell short of any significant breakthrough, stunted perhaps by a delayed response. Despite the small African American population in Santa Rosa, the vague description of the suspect – an African American man in his mid-twenties to thirties, driving a white four-door car, failed to provide any leads.

Georgia’s heartbreaking story tugs on the heartstrings even more when we delve into her home life. Georgia’s mother, grappling with mental health issues, impacted her two young daughters, especially Georgia, who matured beyond her years, adopting a caretaker role for her sister. Her absence wasn’t reported immediately, partially due to her mother’s mental state. It was Georgia’s 7-year-old sister taking matters into her fragile hands who called the police.

### Discovery and Aftershocks
By the time Georgia’s case was officially opened, nine days had sadly succumbed to the sands of time since her last sighting. Even more tragically, her lifeless body was found later, pointing to an untimely death on the same day of her disappearance. This late discovery of Georgia’s fate was a heartbreaking event that shook the core of Santa Rosa.

So why is Georgia’s case significant today? Here are a few reasons:

* Wanting justice for Georgia: The unsolved case of Georgia, still open and being actively investigated, is a relentless quest for closure and justice. Despite the passing years, the need for answers remains urgent, fuelling a relentless search for truth”
